Johannesburg '08 - Mosiac
In January 2008 Help Unlimited is partnering with Mosaic, a community
of faith in Sheffield, to send a team to work with an organisation called Oasis South Africa .
Working with a school leavers program, the team will spend a week alongside disadvantaged young people, supporting and inspiring them with a sense of their
potential and uniqueness.
The young people are typically from single parent families, all of whom are unemployed or on very low incomes. They come from a region called Diepsloot,
an informal settlement/slum on the outskirts of Johannesburg. The trip will provide an amazing opportunity to help these young people desire and find higher
and find higher education and with that a much a brighter future.
The team of seven people who are going on the trip need to raise over £4000 to make this trip a reality. If you're able to offer either financial
support or donate anything we can take out with us, it would be much appreciated.
If you would like to find out more information about this trip, please contact Sam Radford at sam@glocalimpact.org.uk.
To make a donation towards the trip, please go to the donations page and use
the gift aid form. Please make sure you clearly label the fact that the donation is for South Africa.
